BATTLE OF UYO: ‘South Africa Game Will Be Tough…But’, Rohr Confesses
“The game will be difficult. It will be a big challenge to beat the South Africans. It will be difficult with the young players that we have. Our captain, Mikel Obi and our first choice goalkeeper are out of the match,”
THIS is the confession of Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr as Saturday’s Nations cup qualifying game with South Africa draws near.
The match is billed to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom State on Saturday, June 10.
The Eagles have played two tune up matches with Corsica and Togo in France last week drawing 1-1 and winning 3-0 respectively.
Rohr who spoke after Eagles training in Uyo Tuesday after the team’s arrival at the oil rich state capital on Monday said he was not unmindful of the fact that the South African opponent have not lost any match since last year and they would do anything to rock the Eagles’ boat come Saturday, “but this is a game we must win no matter what happens because we have a team that can win the game,” the Franco-German assured.
