Senators, Reps To Resume On September 26
*As Complex Wears New Look
THE Management of National Assembly (NASS) has shifted the date of resumption of lawmakers from their annual recess by one week.
The management did not give any reason for the shifted of resumption date, although the development may not be unconnected with the ongoing reonovation of the entire National Assembly Complext which began shortly after the lawmakers went on break.
The Complex has started wearing a new look owing to intensive renovation work already carried out, just as all department have now been adequately illuminated.
The lawmakers were initially billed to resume on September 19..
The Clerk to the National Assembly, Mr. Mohammed Sani-Omolori, announced the postponement of lawmaker’s resumption date in a statement he issued and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
The Statement titled, ‘Postponement of Resumption read, “This is to inform all distinguished senators and honourable members of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that the resumption date of both Houses in plenary has been rescheduled from Tuesday 19th September 2017 to Tuesday 26th September 2017.
“All distinguished senators and honourable members are by this notice requested to resume sitting in plenary on Tuesday, 26th September, 2017 at 10am prompt, please.”
