Be Wary Of Kidnapper Drivers, Ogun NURTW Boss Warns Residents
THE Chairman, Ogun State National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Akeem Adeosun (A.K.A. Jango), has warned passengers, especially residents of the state to be wary of kidnapper drivers in the state while boarding vehicles.
Alhaji Adeosun gave the warning while addressing Journalists in his office, Asero, Abeokuta against the backdrop of bringing more commercial bus operators in the state.
He said Some evil-minded are parading themselves as motorists in order to kidnap people for ritual purposes, adding that they park anywhere to pick passengers at will.
According to him, passengers need to approach motor parks in the state to board vehicle and fill the motor manifest in case of unforeseen circumstances.
He said the plan to make vehicles plying the same route to operate from a designated point of running commercial vehicle in designated routes within the state capital and other selected cities in the state will soon commenced.
He said that Amosun’s administration has done much for the transport sector through the provisions of over 120 Buses and Taxis to the sector in order to ease the transportation challenges confronting the sector, noting that when the government injected another buses into the transport sector, it would be of more relieve to the residents of the state.
”As you can see that some commercial buses and taxis introduced in the sector last not enough for the residents because of the influx of investors and peoples entering the state on daily basis, that is more reason government deem it fit to inject another series of buses and taxis into the system,” Adeosun said.
While hailing the Amosun’s promises on the provision of more buses and taxis to boost the state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Adeosun vowed not to derail the good initiative of the state government but emphasized the need for the residents to cooperate with the transport union in ensuring better services.
He said that the Union have been in peaceful co-existence since the inception of this administration without any atom of fomenting trouble across the three Senatorial district of the state, noting that the Union nowadays were in oneness and working hands in glove to maintain their glory and dignity devoid of violence and thuggery.
