OGUN Sensitization Programme Woos Christians To Holy Pilgrimage
AS part of measures put in place to increase Christians’ participation in Holy Pilgrimage to Israel, the Ogun State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board has kicked off its 2018 sensitization programme across the state toward boosting Pilgrimage development.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Pastor Oluwole Odejobi, who made this known in an interview with Journalists at his office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the exercise was tailored towards promoting the virtues inherent in participating in the Holy Pilgrimage.
Odejobi also said that the programme was one of the statutory responsibilities of the Board at promoting religious unity and growth in the state, saying that for the exercise to have a far reaching effect; four different teams had been formed to ensure hitch-free exercise in Remo, Ijebu, Yewa and Egba zones.
He said each of the zone was headed by an experienced and committed leader, listing out their names to include; Mrs. Oluwakemi Omitade, Egba Zonal Leader; Mrs. Alaba Ogunnike, Yewa Zonal Leader; Mrs. Olufumilayo Oduneye, Ijebu Zonal Leader; and Mr. Tunde Akinsanya, Remo Zonal Leader.
Odejobi said the exercise has encouraged Pilgrimage development in the state in no small measure, assuring that with the outstanding performance and commitment of each leader, the Board has recorded success and has no reason of contracting out its responsibilities to any agent, adding that with the crops of seasoned Civil Servants across different profession especially in the Board the future of the state is very bright.
He enjoined Christian leaders from different denominations across the state to cooperate, support and work in tandem with the team in order to actualize their set objectives.
