Ekiti PDP Guber Primary: Group Commends Okowa’s Performance

·        Says  It’s Reflection Of Rebranded PDP

A political pressure group, Delta Collective Movement (DCM) has commended Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, for the peaceful, orderly, free, fair and unbiased manner with which he  conducted the Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship primary election. The group described it as a “five star performance which the whole nation and beyond has acknowledged as a model in terms of its transparency and orderliness. It added that the Governor has shown to Nigerians and the world, what the rebranded PDP has in stock to offer them, going forward.

DCM, made up of professionals from Delta State, made this known in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary and Legal Adviser, Mr. Charles Okogene and Barrister Lucky Eguridu respectively on Thursday. DCM described the governor as a man of peace who brought back peace to Ekiti State just days after the All Progressives Congress (APC) had turned it into a mini war zone.

“DCM warmly commends and congratulates our amiable Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for the five star performance he put up at the just concluded Ekiti State PDP Governorship Primary which has been drawn wide applause in term of its orderliness, transparency and many other positives. The exercise clearly has raised the bar in the conduct of primary elections.

“We note with pride, the public recommendation by the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, that Governor Okowa be kept for more days so that he can assist and help other parties to conduct their primaries. Even though it came as something in the lighter mood, it clearly underscores the appreciation of the public as it was an expression of the overwhelming opinion of the people about the outcome of the exercise”.

According to the group, Okowa with his team had by this singular act demonstrated that what he did at the party’s national elective congress that produced Chief Uche Secondus as the national chairman of the party held on December 6, 2017, in Abuja was not a fluke.

The Ekiti State PDP primary which held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Ado-Ekiti, saw the Deputy Governor of the state, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka emerged as the flag bearer for the election billed for July 14 2018.
