AMAA Now For Kigali On Sept 22
By Charles Okogene, ONNLive
EVERYTHING being equal, Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, will play host to the galaxy of stars and movie industry stakeholders billed to attend this year’s edition of African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) on September 22 2018.
A competent AMAA source disclosed this to ONNLive on condition of anonymity that the African version of the Oscars, which was originally scheduled to take place in the former war torn country this July 7, has been shifted to September, the month commonly referred to as one to remember.
Though, our source refused to let us into the reason(s) for the shift in month and date because he is not competent to do so, however, it could be remembered that ONNLive had reported that the award will be held in Kigame’s Rwanda on July 7 where the nomination party of last year’s award was held.
And if the award holds in Rwanda, it will be Nigeria’s first home grown entertainment event (movie ceremony) proper to go international, just as this year’s AFRIMA award will be held in Ghana.
AMAA award was first held in Bayelsa State.
