MAKE UNA NO WORRY: Justice On Its Way, OGUN Tells Dead Okada Rider’s Relations
THE Ogun State government has assured the dead ‘Okada’rider’s family of adequate justice as the death of Ibrahim Raji is crying for vengeance.
The Chairman, Ogun State Park and Garages Development Board, Alhaji Ola-Ayo Ogunsolu made this known while addressing journalists in his office, Ibara, Abeokuta Ogun State capital.
He said the culprit, Saheed, an official of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Tricycle Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) would not go without being punished according to the law of the land.
Ogunsolu while expressing his displeasure over the death of the motorcyclist, Ibrahim Raji, who is believed to be a Bricklayer, noted that the suspect, an official of the Union was in police custody as at time of filing the report, assuring the residents of the state that justice must prevail in the case.
“As am talking to you now the culprit ‘Saheed’ is in the police net and he will not go scot free, thus will serve as a deterrent to other officials, that they were sent out to collect tax and earn their living not to kill people and he will soon be arraigned in the court of law for Justice”, Ogunsolu said.
Ogunsolu added that seven out of ten motorcyclists would paid for their daily operations while three of them would abscond without paying for their daily tickets, as they would try to avert the Okada Union for the ticket, saying that the Union are working for the government not themselves.
“You see those people are just aggressive on nothing sake, it is normal that not every Okada riders will collect this ticket, all what they really need is patient and perseverance and not violence, you cannot get on every one of them at the same time, so they need to understand this”, Ogunsolu opined
He said the incident at Iyana Mortuary in Abeokuta was quite unfortunate and uncalled for, saying that the Unions and Okada riders in the state are not thugs, but some unscrupulous elements just wanted to hijack the incident to perpetrate unlawfully act and turn the state capital into chaos.
It will be recalled that on Wednesday July, 04, 2018, an official of a Commercial Motorcyclists Association reported that he allegedly punched a motorcycle rider Ibrahim Raji, to death, because of his refusal to obtain the daily Union ticket of N400 and the incident occurred at Iyana Mortuary area of the Abeokuta metropolis.
